Default Tranny and Rear Axel Question

Can I swap the torque tube, clutch, transmission, rear Axel with short shaft from a base 6 speed C6 to my 99 FRC? Reason is that my FRC has 150k on the clock and is starting to show it's aged and I have access to a 40k 2006 drive train. If I knew that it was possible o swap the whole drive train I would. Suspension and all. In other word roll it from under the 2006 and roll it under the 99. However I don't believe that's possible.

I believe that if you swap the entire drivetrain (axles, diff, torque tube, tranny) they will be able to fit on a C5.

Its not the easiest thing in the world, you have to modify the transmission and differential mounts, although I think I saw something that Pdaft made some, or was going to start selling them. There are a couple threads about a few people swapping c6 ZR1 drivetrains into their C5s. Its not easy, but it is possible.

I'm not sure on the specifics, but I know the 2005 and maybe some of the 2006 c6 drivetrains were crap. Something like GM hadn't finished designing the drivetrain in 2005 and so the early c6's just had modified C5 drivetrains that were prone to failure. Can't remember if some of the 2006's were also like that. I'm sure there's plenty of information about it on the c6 forum, but I would research it before you try and swap it.
