Anybody paint or plasti dip lower door panels And glove box to look like mod red if so any pics? And what color and type paint you use ?
I heard someone used the red plasti dip but wondered if it looked good and held up thanks
Your post title automatically caught my eye lol. I obsessed over MR interior until I finally got it into my C5Z. I thought of dyeing my black pieces also a while back but I really wanted an oem look as much as possible. Luckily I ran into a complete set a while back. If you search there's tons of threads about dyeing. But anyway, here's the plasti dipped MR pieces thread you were asking about.
I plasti-dipped my car to give it the mod red look. It's hard to tell its dip. The only down fall that I have is if you kick the door on the way out, you'll scratch the dip and have to spray another coat over it to hide the mark. Other than that, I like it and now have mod red interior for $15.

You plastic dipped the entire car ....he k I'm afraid to do a small area ..
Sorry, but I cannot help with the "how to" but here is some pics. This was already done when I bought my car. The guy said he used PPG paint to do it. He also did all of the paint work under the hood with PPG paint.
You have to admit that was funny , I was thinking man that guy must have worked his *** off
It's all good man , your post did say entire car ..
Just messing with you ..

jrockk, that is my "mod red" modded interior in the link that Maxx_Z06 posted.
again, the flash from my camera made the PD look "shinier" than it actually is in person. and in that the PD is a rubberized coating, i keep it dressed with a little Meguire's Natural Shine.
its been going on a year now and several shows and the PD has held up well.
and like i said in the original post, unless i mention it to someone, they would swear that they were factory mod red pieces. this includes a guy who had a QS Z06 with mod red and he was impressed with how well and original it looked.
Here is my plasti-dipped Mod Red interior that cost about $15. Took the panels off and put several layers of dip on in order to have a nice even cover on the panels.
Don't mind the dirty car. It's winter and it's been sitting in the garage for about 2 months.

It looks great so great that I decided and went out to the local ace and bought myself some cans of the red so as soon as it warms up a little over here I'm gonna go at it thanks
