My wife didn't know about Corvettes or for that matter really any cars when we met and in all honesty, never has had an interest in cars other than as a means of transportation. It's just not her thing. That's OK though as she has interests that just do not appeal to me. We do have enough common interests that keep us happy.
very well put here. My little wifey is the same way.
When we met she new a little about cars,,but knowing I was a gear head learn a little more about cars and tolerated my addiction quite well. After making a pass on the strip in my brother's hopped up cutlass,,I was on the hunt for something I could fix up and play with, After nixing a few candidates as too rough or too ugly,,,SHE finds a mix and match 69 427 4speed C3!! Gotta love her!!! Then several years later after a hot 600 mile trip to the Corvette Museum and assembly plant in July she said if we do any more trips,,she wanted one with A/C,,enter the 2000 FRC and I have TWO vetoes now. About 10 years ago she bought me a Backyard Buddy 4post lift,,,,Gotta Love her!!
Good stories guys, now from the "other" side of the fence. My husband could care less about a Corvette. He had his muscle cars in his youth, as I did, but when I wanted to buy a vette, and found mine, all he said was "You're making a big mistake, you should be saving that for retirement". He finally came around as he sees how much enjoyment I get out of the car. Recently I put on Corsa Pace Car exhaust, and all he says "If that's what you like". He finally took a ride last Sunday, and just said he thought the original exhaust had a more "classic" sound. Gotta love him tho! (He still isn't sure on the proper generations)
I have been doing a little modding on my car I was on-line looking for some more goodies. My wife asks me "What are you looking at" I told her "just some corvette stuff to buy" she says why are you spending more money on your car it thought you were thinking about buying a new Grand Sport" I think I teared up ... she's the best
my wife of 39 years drives and works on her 1955 Chevy 2 door sedan which has a 327 [not stock by any means] 4 speed and 3.70 gears. she does most of the work on the car herself and it will blow the doors off my Corvette in a drag race..
Where do you guys get these women??? Awesome! And I thought my wife was improving becasue she noticed a difference between 5 spoke wheels and my Spyder style wheels.
Mine (9 yrs of marriage) now can pick out most models (C1-C6), can identify a '96 Grand Sport, and knows what the words "4 speed, dual quad, positraction 409" means. But I still won't let her drive my Vette.
haha... i tried to let her drive mine, but her legs are too short to push the clutch all the way in

The girlfriend is certainly approaching pro status. She has certainly gained a ton of knowledge over the years. Her favorite model year is still the C3...

My wife could care less about my vette, he hates it but she's quick to point out any mod or changes I've done. My 9yr old daughter, on the other hands, loves it. Out of our 3 vehicles, she will pick the vette to ride in every time.
