Has any of you guys ever modified your air bridge? And specifically what I'm talking about is shaving off the C5 logo that is on the top of the air bridge? I just had some artwork done on a new hood pad and the air bridge logo is still touching the hood pad. Even after I took off the blackwing filter and changed it to a dual snorkle cold air setup. Any ideas?????
They all hit it a bit, I have no emblem on mine and it hits.
My Callaway Honker also hits as well as the chrome cap on my coolant overflow tank.
A trick I learned to keep my (fabric) hoodliner looking good is that I simply pop the hood when returning home after every drive to let the engine cool and then I lower it down onto the hinges without pressing it shut.

I have a Halltech Stinger and I had to cut the lower rad support and fabricate an offset into it so the filter sits lower, The airbridge no longer touches anything.

I'm not running a stock air bridge but it did have a C5 emblem that was wearing the hood pad. When I replaced the hood pad I removed the emblem and had a sticker made to match the ones on the fuel rail covers. Then I clear coated it, problem solved.
By hand.
I started with 100 grit wet/dry sandpaper with one of the soft board holders. I got it at home depot and will try and find a pic for you.
When I had a lot of the bump finish off, I used some automotive filler primer, then more sanding. I would work up with finer grit sandpaper and primer. Finished up with 800 grit sandpaper and a final coat of primer one last wet sand.
Washed off the little bit of sandpaper leavings and let dry.
Several lite coats of gloss black.
Finished off with some coats of clear and applied the sticker.
I took my time, as the bridge that got all the work was a replacement piece I bought off ebay. I still drove my car while sanding the piece.
Edit: Sanding block like this one on the link below.

Mine has never touched the hoodliner - at least not that I can tell by any wear/tear on the hoodliner. I too am worried about this though as I am getting a custom painted hoodliner too and sure would hate to see it get damaged. May have to consider getting one of the smooth airbridges that the aftermarket sells.
Great Info!! Thanks, I'll do that over the weekend. How did you knock down the raised C5 logo? Mine is like 1/4 thick.
I left the raised logo. I had the 3D 50th anniversary logo I bought at the corvette museum. With the smooth finish and raised logo it just added a little more interest.
Have you considered getting a smooth carbon fiber air bridge. Mine came with the Halltech filter setup and it never touched the hood liner back when I had the stock hood on.
