Default Passenger Window Doesnt always work

So my passenger window works when it wants to. If I use it everyday it will work but my car sits for the weekend it wont.

Ive tried slamming the door, hitting the door panel etc and nothing. I can push the window down button and watch the lights flicker on the radio/climate controls.

Any help?

Sounds like the regulator. It's a POS part. Here is a how-to with some pictures. The part is not Vette specific, and GM uses the same low quality piece on some of their low end cars...

Hi Bryan,

I had the same issue on my 03 z06, the dealer thought it was the regulator, replaced it and no dice. They replaced the motor and I told them take the other part out because I wasn't paying for something that wasn't the problem, they did... and it again didn't work. So in the end they had to replace both but I was lucky enough they only charged me the 1 part.

That or nothing was broken and they dooped me......

sorry the link is broke, just search the forum for "window regulator replacement"...the forum search engine is WAY stupid, but will eventually get there. The part is $60-90 online with a motor included, just replace the whole thing. The hardest part (at least for a Vert) is getting the adjustments right.

My passenger window didn't work at all when I got my 04 Z06, I pulled the door panel off and took the outer motor housing off, I believe it's 3 or 4 allen bolts. You can get to all the bolts with it all still in the door. Then I cleaned it up, rotated it 180 degrees, as it will install either way, and presto the window worked again. Didn't cost a cent, just about an hour of time. You can always try it first before you spend any money.

So back from the dead. A month later and still didnt change out anything BUT

Went for a tune the other day. The tuner hooked up everything reset the ecu got in and we went for a ride to street tune. I told him id roll the window to get some more air in but it dont work. As I said that I hit the button and it rolled down WTF first time in 2 months maybe more.

So it worked from the 29 up until yesterday and now its not working again. Im thinking electrical issues. Where should I look or is it the regulator.

I'm thinking it's coming down to the regulator.........

Check out the how-to video in this link.

Below is a link to someone else having a recent passenger window issue. It can provide some helpful info including how to remove the door panel.

Also, when I do Forum searches, I do it using Google and you get the Forum and others similar sites for additional assistance. I and others find this better than trying to directly search this Forum.
