Getting mine done this Spring and never thought of getting the sides darker. I think 20% on sides would be nice, but might be safe to go with 30% on rear. The lighter tint is okay in KY although I see a lot of cars with dark tint.

I have Llumar 20% all around on the Corvette and the SRT is Llumar 50% on the windshield and 5% on the front doors with factory tint on the rear with another 20% on top of it. The Vette will hopefully get re-tinted with 5% all around and 50%-35% on the windshield. I have a guy that actually got his name off this forum and he's great with tinting the rear window.

Why do people tint with limo tint ,their nice rides not only vettes .... I thought we want people to see whos driving in this nice car ...thats why I like lite tint on cars ...I think 35% tint all around is perfect. .

Taking the plunge......mine is getting done tomorrow, 20% all around, will post pics.
I went to a couple places to talk about it and they are all saying the same thing about the rear dot matrix, so keeping my fingers crossed it comes out all right.
The guy doing it says I can go back for touch up.
I did ask about the black vinyl and both places said it has to go on the outside and it looks bad, they didn't want to do it.

Put 5% temporarily on side window (used scotch tape) and drove at night around town and most intersections could NOT SEE if somebody was waiting to cross the street. for me it was very unsafe to watch for pedestrians in parking lots also. went with the 35% on sides & back still like the look on a black car.

Went back and forth in my head the whole drive there between 35% and 20% and didn't know what I would say until I got there. Well, I got there and 20% is what came out of my mouth. It looks too good not to take a chance on getting a ticket. On the east end of the island like every other car is tinted, so hoping the cops are too busy doing more important things than busting horns about tints.
If I get pulled over or pull up to a checkpoint I would just open the windows anyway. They just want to be able to see you when it counts.

I havent had a problem. I have a rule- you can usually get away with doing one or two 'dumb' things at a time. (speed, 20% tint, not use indicators, run a yellow light, etc) As soon as you do a third dumb thing, people take notice- especially Suffolk's finest!
