When removing the old shifter boot on my C5Z, I read that it is stapled and lightly glued. Once staples are removed and old boot is carefully removed. How is the new one secured? By just re-gluing back with super glue or ? Thanks
I'd assume you could just staple the new boot onto the plastic like the old one was. But not just regular paper staples. Something more along the lines of the heavier duty ones that are used in those staplers with the long handles on them. Gorilla Glue is also an option. When I switched to the metal ring, I spread a small amount on the inside of the boot in between each metal tab to bond the leather together when I folded it over the metal. I don't see why it wouldn't work with the plastic. You're going to love the shifter by the way.
Did my boot with a redline leather boot using the plastic ring over, just use a good interior adhesive and let it sit and it will stay forever, I think the only reason they used staples was to get around a cure time.
