I had the same color combo on my "top Flight" 81 which was in mint condition with half the miles, and oem rare 4-speed, which I sold when i got my c5. Sold it 3 years ago for $16k
One of the eight Corvettes I have owned was a 1981 Automatic. Performance was terrible. It was very heavy and had low horsepower. I purchased it from a friend with very low mileage for a great price but it surely was not a keeper. Most of my previous Vettes I wish I still had but that was not one of them.

Had a 76 same experience, from the pics the resto is done nicely but I do not know about the collect-ability or performance of an 81, those were dark years for all performance cars. wasn't until the C4 when GM started to get it right and put some punch in the car, and a slightly upgraded suspension from the basic C2 trailing arms.

this is why i don't get the c4 black sheep thing. it's a much better car than a c3.
Nice looking car, but the "fast car" statement might be a bit of a stetch. I would need to see some pics of the underside of the car to determine if it's worth anywhere near the asking price. But it's still a good looking disco-vette.
I have always reffered to these as the "disco era" corvette. You did not own one of these cars for the power. You owned it to say you have a corvette. This car probably had a problem breaking 85 MPH. Yuck. It is clean though

Low HP is irrelevant in a gen 1 chevy small block. You can easily make that a 400 HP motor with 1 afternoons work and for less than a set of wheels for a C5.
