Yesterday my warning lights for Traction Control and ABS systems came on when I started the car. I immediately read online that is was likely a battery problem and I saw my voltage was at 13.2V - when I took it to autozone because that's where I got the yellow top for it they didn't want to replace it! I pulled off my alternator, replaced fuses, and checked the cabling before they finally replaced it for me and they were still reluctant. Keeping in mind they have rules they have to follow, its not the employee's fault I remained calm and appreciative for his help.
When we replaced the battery the error has not come back for about 25 miles now. Is this just because the computer has been reset and it hasn't rechecked it or am I in the clear? My guess is that I am in the clear since the traction control system is initiated at start up so it would have saw the fault.
Let me know if you guys have encountered the same or advice - THANKS!
You should have cleared the codes via the DIC to see if they would reoccur. Since you did NO DIAGNOSTICS, only time will tell if your issue will reoccur.
Give me some credit here lol. I did run diagnostic and there was 1 code that said "charging system voltage error". It was showing "service traction and control system" and "Service ABS System" on the dash. My personal belief is that I got a faulty battery because now my voltage readings are far more stable.

You can leave it here, we have had these discussions about a million and a half times here on the TC.
Mine comes and goes as well, just haven't had the time to get it properly diagnosed.
That's why I said it may or may not come back. Mine will go for a couple days sometimes without coming on and then it will stay on for 2weeks. Hopefully yours is just the batt issue. But even if it's not it's not the end of the world. Your 03 can be repaired, my 99 cannot be. But I've driven most of the miles in my life without TC so I couldn't care less. I just wish I could turn off the stupid light.
The traction control and ABS system is a network of sensors. Without checking for codes it will be hard to pinpoint the problem. Mine had this problem about 2 years ago and it turned out to be a steering wheel position module. Check for codes.
I will monitor for the error to come back and let you know. I had it replaced with a battery that carries a little more juice, just barely fit but has been feeling great since.
My battery is fine, and I still get the ABS/Traction Control warning lights from time to time. It seems to occur more often if the car is sitting idle for any length of time.
I have the same intermitten error. I plan on using http://www.absfixer.com/
price to correct the problem is fairly inexpensive. Take a look at the site, easy to follow directions.
Being a newbie to the vette world I am not going to pretend to know anything about them. That said, when I had a failing battery I had both those warnings (and others) coming up and when I got the new battery they all went away and have not come back.

Same happens to me, occasionally, when I make the hard right turn out of my garage. I just restart the car and it goes away.

Just keep an eye on it - hopefully it is just a battery problem. If not, it will set some codes should the problem occur again - write them down and post them up here and someone can help you out.
Mine started doing the same thing a few weeks after i replaced a hub bearing assembly on my front right wheel, 97 Z51. I'm hoping in my case it is the speed sensor in the hub is bad as it pops on EXACTLY at 35 mph everytime.
Wiil the drivers side door switches work when this happens? If they don't and warning bells keep going off with a couple of gages zeroing out, then it is the wirng harness inside the casing between the door and the body. One of the plugs works loose. I thought it was bogus when I read it before but when mine did that I opened the door grabbed the harness bundle and shook it, restarted and it went away. Seems to be a common issue as the cars get older.
