Default Z51?

What classifies as a Z51? I'm new to C5's (pick mine up tomorrow), and am not sure exactly what the Z51 option is, or how to tell if mine has the option?

Sorry for such an elementary question...

In the glove box you will see a sheet that lists all options, If you have a Z51 it will be listed as Z51, What the Z51 options give you are ...
Automatic trans Z51 packages marry the power steering cooler with the suspension components - including the shocks, springs and beefier sway bars. Metal sway bar links up front, plastic in the back, 3.15 gearing in the rear differential.

Z51 is the Performance Handling Package--Larger front & rear stabilizers and stiffer springs.
There should be a list of options either in the glove box or on the underside of the of the center panel storage compartment.

So, are you saying Z51's are all autos?

NO, If you have a 6 speed omit the 3.15 gears, They will have the standard 3.42 gears.

I have the Z51 setup on my '99 coupe. Was not aware it included metal end links on the front. Good to know as I'm thinking of upgrading my sway bars. Will just replace my rear plastic end links then.

Make sure you take a look first to see what you have. I have two '99's (both Z51's) and they both had the plastic end links at all four corners.
