Exactly, I could drive my Vette every day down here in the South, but I don't, sometimes it sits for 4-5 days, while I'm either working around the house or driving another vehicle, but, I have a habit of putting it on the trickle charger every time I pull it into the garage, no problems at all with my Redtop!!
Jim,, I put a new red top in my DD 2001 last fall. It failed completely within about 3 months. I took it to NAPA and they gave me a total refund.
At this time I'll need some convincing to ever buy another. The NAPA refund was handled to my satisfaction, the battery was not a good one.
knewblewcorvette, I think you'll be pleased with your charger, but if you have any questions, please don't hesitate to contact me directly. Phanni, I understand your reluctance to purchase another Optima and that you'll need some convincing to purchase another one. Hopefully, your new battery will serve you well and you won't need to make that decision for several years. If that time comes sooner than you expect and you'd like to ask me questions about our products, please don't hesitate to contact me directly.
I had a ~8 year old red top in my first c5. It died out about 6 months after i bought the car... I refused to just throw it away after i threw a spare in instead. It sat for about a year until i heard about ctek chargers. I bought a ctek 3300 and gave it a shot at recharging; which it did successfully. The battery is now in my current c5.
The ctek has actually recovered about 8 batteries for us. $40 very well spent.
