I had my display 'fixed' by someone that doesn't necessarily fix these things. When the parking lights are off, the display is dimmer. When the parking lights are on, it gets brighter.
Shouldn't it be the opposite way around? What needs to be changed?
OK....I've been reading the threads on this topic since I bought the car. 2 hours ago I read a response that got me off my azz went out to the garage and tore into it. I have a convertible so factor in the "water fall". Followed the directions without a hitch.
The resistors on the circuit board appeared to be perfect, but as someone else said, re-soldered anyway. 2 moved as soon as I touched them. The others I did pretty well. Got those 2 soldered in place but very sloppy. I connected the unit in the car to see if I had accomplished anything....walla.....full bright display. I was going to go back and clean-up, but said screw-it. It's working perfect, put it all back together an be happy. I can see the display day time and the night time dimmer works as well. Cheers to the guy that figured it out...bless you my son.

One would think that's the way it should work, however, I have no ideal what your guy did wrong, or how to attempt to fix it.....

When I did mine one resistor came loose and was a pain to get back in place. I discovered if you pry up gently on each end you will find where they are not connected. I soldered that end first and no more got away. It is a great free fix though.
