Got mine at Costco, works great and don't have to put a trickle charger on it.

i went through two optimas yellow tops in three years, junk
odysseybattery.com/check out odessey batteries AGM design its the same people that make the batteries for combat www.enersys.com/.
They are a little pricey but you will never have to worry about your battery and Auxiliary's ever again.
i run high comp engine with electric water pump, dual fuel pumps and a whole mess of electronics, this thing will run you tank you have parked in your driveway
by the way as many people think die hard is the same battery dont be fooled die hard is a piece of junk made by the same company (Johnson contols) that make most others, inclouding Optima

The Platinum is 15 lbs heavier than the Optima Red Top. Why carry that extra weight in a sports car?

Summer will kill a batt. Winter will let you know how good your battery is.
Your assumption is correct in that you dont understand the difference between battery trickle chargers and maintainers apparently. Second--multiple dry starts much worse than a single dry start in the spring. Fog the motor if you want to avoid both but really not a big deal good synthetic oil just doesnt disappear from cylinders over a winters time

Wrong. Who do you think manufactures the Sears Die Hard Platinum batteries? Try again.

I had great success in my 99 with the Sear Die Hard Gold. Only drove it on weekends & never any issues, fired right up every time..

They use to make the Die hard, not anymore, try calling Enersys 1 610-208-1991 and asking them the same question, they will direct you to Johnson controls for all the sears batteries as off three years ago.

I just bought a Red Top a little over a month ago. So far my car hasn't blown up. Only time will tell if it was worth the investment. Unfortunately, as you can see, you're going to get a wide array of opinions.
