Deck Lid Protection
I am concerned about the possible finish marring of the rear deck lid on my C5 convertible when the top is up. Is this a real issue and is the clear protective film a good way to protect it?

I have seen some decklids that have gotten a few scuffs over the years from the top being in the up position. Many vendors sell a clear film that will protect the area - I would have to say that it would offer some decent protection and should it get scuffed over time, you should be able to just replace it.

I had a 66,98 and now 03 vert never really had an issue. I believe that it is mostly hype, drive and enjoy the car. leave the top down

Not sure what year you have but here is a thread about using the 2002-2004 weatherstrip to offer more protection. I have a 2001 and don't see any issues yet. Upgrading is on my list of things when I get a "Round To-It".
