Default Crap..... Need suggestions

Alright guys I've been building my 2001 corvette over the winter.... It now has PRC 227cc heads w/62cc domes, MS4 cam, lunatti lifters, ported fast 90 intake, gm performance 90mm throttle body, Siemens 60lb injectors, head studs, vararam cold air intake, linginfelter 255lph pump, and a 75 hp shot of nitrous. Anyway here's my issue. The guy I bought it off of told me he put a clutch in it. Well looking at all the paperwork I see he put a stock clutch in! So now I'm panicking. My tune date is the 29th. I'm wondering if this clutch is going to hold up for the tune (it's got 2000 miles on it) I know I'm going to need to get a better one but with the tune date and it needing to be tuned I don't have the time or ability to properly break a clutch in.

Really not sure what to do. I was going to overnight a spec stage 1 clutch (rated for 599hp) but like I said. It's going to go in and get hammered which I know isn't good either. I need opinions!

IMHO, your back is up against a wall, the worst that can happen is you have to trailer it home and replace the clutch your going to replace. If you can't re-schedule run it out and hope for the best. The stock clutch, I believe is good to 500 hp

Hmm if a stock clutch is good to 500hp I may be ok. Anyone else know if that's true. My other option is ordering a clutch and having TSP send me a mail order tune and just run that.

You didn't say what your estimated final hp will be with the tune but if the clutch only has 2000 miles on it you'll be fine. I am tuned to a conservative 550 rwhp on my setup. I've been running a stock clutch for over two years with no issues. If you are planning to beat on the car regularly, naturally, the clutch is not going to last as long.

My buddy in his Procharged 2004 laid down 553 RWHP on his stock clutch and never had an issue!

For your set-up you will be just fine!

Thanks,Matt
