I just wanted to comment on what I think is a sad state of affairs. The Le Mans 2002 posting in this news group has something like 225 views while a posting on a transmission failure posted within ten minutes of the Le Mans posting has over 800 views.
Sure it is a bummer to loose a tranny but I wish we had a section for the complaints and dealer gripes. I think it is sad that a mechanical failure gets almost four times the page views of a posting on the second consecutive win at the most difficult road race in the world.
Eh, that's the way it is with all posts. Sometimes a good post gets no views because the title doesn't draw attention. I'm sure its not meant as a slight to the racers, but you have to consider that many C5 owners are not the racer type and bought the car for any number of reasons from nostalgia and prestige, to looks and wow factor at shows.
And let's not forget that a potential part failure or problem with one of these cars more directly affects everyone else who has invested in one, while a pair of cars winning a race in France doesn't grab too many people.
If it's any consolation...... I was one of those 200 people who viewed it. :D
I love SCCA style racing and don't care much for that Nascar stuff.... but there is a much larger percentage of the population that is into Nascar that couldn't care less about "le 24 hueres du mans."
