[Z06] Stereo ?

Stereo ?
I would like to get a louder stereo in my C5Z06. I don't need anything really crazy, but want something a litte better than stock. Any suggestions? I dont want to spend a ton of $ either. I am spending most of my $ on go fast stuff.

I just recently swapped out for all four speakers, head unit and amplifier. I removed every trace of BOSE. The head unit is very user friendly. It is one of the only units that still allow you to plug the ipod adapter cable through the back. Most have only the front as a place to plug that cord in. That looks bad. I ran my cord through the back and into the ashtray, you see nothing. I didnt care to use a subwoofer. The extra weight seemed like an insult to the car, and all the work GM did to shed pounds. I will send you a list of the exact parts I used as soon as I can. Either today or tomorrow. It sounds awesome! I'm very happy with it.

Thanks for taking the time to reply. Like I said, I just want something better than stock that I can plug my phone into as all my music is on there. I dont mind plugging it into the front. I am also one of the 5% of the population that doesn't have an Iphone or Ipod of some sort so the Ipod hookup doesn't help me lol. I might be doing a subwoofer, Im on the fence. I don't mind adding a few lbs. The heads and cam will make up for it

Best mod I've done. I love music but I really needed Bluetooth so wife could call while I was out driving and with a Z can't shift and talk. Anyway I used a Kenwood head unit with Bluetooth and iPod connection, Pioneer speakers and a small Kenwood sub and I love it. A hundred times better than the stock unit. I also used the GMRAP so the stereo would stay on till you open the doors. Great upgrade.

Receiver/cd player: Kenwood KDCBT952HD I got it for $260
Front speakers: Focal 8" component speaker I got them for $275
These were able to fit without any alteration of the car.
Rear speakers: Focal 5.25" performance component I got them for $250
Amplifier: JLAUDIO HD900/5 I already had this amplifier
Note 1: This amplifier is a little overkill to the stereo system. First of all its a 5 channel.
I originally had it in a different car, I had it so I used it. A less expensive amp should
be just fine.
Note 2: This system is in an 03' ZO6. My rear speakers were 5.25". Not all corvettes
are.
Receiver/cd player: Kenwood KDCBT952HD I got it for $260
