Construction ....went to a automotive paint dealer and bought some quality primer , and a can of spray paint ( color matched ) anyway
220, 320 and 600 got sandpaper oh yea and 1 can of clear coat to preform painting the raditor cover ... This project took about 6 hours to complete
What I'm trying to show is that I managed to sand out the words
( caution fan )
i like it, looks real good.....I was torn after smoothing and painting my fuel rail covers, if I was going to paint the radiator cover or the air bridge....I ended up doing the air bridge to match the frc's....the air bridge was some tuff plastic but I was able to get her smooth as silk

Yesterday I think 4 1/2 were used for sanding then primer then sand again
It turned out pretty good , my air bridge is carbon I'm thinking it will look pretty good

...sanding takes the longest....and yes the carbon air bridge is gonna look sweet over the red radiator cover.
I tired doing my Coil covers and for some reason the paint is turning back to liquid when the engine gets hot. I used caliper paint because it matched the color of my car real close and also i figured could stand up to high heat...it says 500deg. i dont know what i did wrong. I was going to do that part yoyu did next but have to find a better way. let us know how it stands up to the heat
Looks good James. You can get some pretty good finishes out of a spray bomb these days!
I done the research ..... Went to a paint ( auto ) shop with my list and the GM torch red reference number , people like me that may not know there are products out there made to stick to plastics ....
Pricing it was not a cheap way to do this but less than buying the rad . Cover
Primer ( deep fill ) $25 .00
Torch Red paint that was mixed there then put into an aerosol can $33.00
It's all in the sanding though if any of you want to try this just do do it
Looks great James, did you use a D/A sander or did you do that by hand, if by hand I bet your hands are sore.
As a cabinet builder we call
Them Palm Sanders , the rad. Cover has a texture to it I just sanded
Sprayed it with premier repeated that 3 times then 2 coats red ,wet sanded once , hit it one more time with red then clear coat
