I wanted to replace a bad hid bulb so I opened the right headlight manually, remove the entire bucket so I could check all the connections and tighten the tabs than hold the hid bulb in place. Re-assembled everything and now the right headlight grinds for a few seconds before shutting off. They open and close normally other than the grinding issue. It worked perfectly before I took it apart and have done this before with no problems. I cant see why the gears would have gone bad just by removing and re-installing the bucket. Any ideas?
not sure what else to do, have tried tricking them into the right position without the grinding but no dice. Maybe its using a different position on the gear now that I manually changed it.

I was finishing installing the HID's and my passenger side starting to make the same noise as the drives side did last year. I'm glad I brought a set of gears. Changed it out and no problem. Now I have to wait until tonight to adjust the headlights.
