Default Radiator screen question

I'm thinking of installing a radiator screen on a lowered 03' Z06. Anyone have any Pro's or Con's concerning air restriction to radiator? I know that a window screen in a home has a reduction of upto 30% air movement.... This screen will restrict but by how much and will it cause overheat condictions?

I haven't heard of anyone complaining about higher temps after installation of one of the screens, the holes in the mesh are not nearly as small as that of a window screen. I do not have on on my car, but I can see where they would keep leaves, trash, etc. from getting sucked up into the radiator area - which is always a pain to get clean.

I've had the screen for several yrs now & have had no problems with it. My '99 FRC is at stock running height. It does help alot in keeping the radiator cleaner. Got my screen from Mid America but recall some forum members making their own.

No issues at all with the one I purchased from Elite Engineering. I'm also have a Honker CAI so it sucks up even more than OEM intake. No temp issues even after I installed a Low Temp Stat for my Chuck C.O.W. tune.

Default Leaf & trash guard ?

You can buy a number of them from all sorts of our forum supporters. I bought one years ago from Mid-America #618-140 $59.99. It installs in five minutes, doesn't look like much but you'll never see it once installed. But it is tight and keeps out leafs, newspapers, trash from being sucked up into the space where the radiator and the air box meet. I've never had a single thing make it past the screen leaf guard.
