I have a 2003 A4 and was just hit from behind at I would say 15 mph sitting at a red light. Visible damage is a crack of the rear cap and the internal bumper seems to have been pushed in about 1 1/2 inches.
What other non visible damage should I look for? I am getting ready to take to the adjuster.
Frame, electrical problem, gas tank and fuel pump.
Make sure insurance pays extra for the resale value adjustment that the car fax report is going to cost you. That accident will cost 2K or more in resale value.

Sorry about the accident - hope you are OK. I would get a second opinion from a body shop you trust to see if the adjuster covered all the damage. If there is some differences, bring those up with the insurance company.

You can try that, but many insurance companies will not pay diminished value. Worth a shot though.
Hear about this type of accident more and more. Was it someone texting or on their phone? This is why I hardly ride my motorcycle anymore, it was scary enough before the texting problem. Hope all goes well in getting your car repaired.
And make sure shop uses oem. The ins co told my mech that parts are cheaper here or there and why cant he get parts from a salvage yard. My mech said hell no i only put new oem parts. He's a vette owner.lol didn't know ins companys were that dirty.

A few things to add from my experience:
If the rear fiberglass tub, that makes up the trunk/cargo area, of the car is cracked they will almost certainly total the car. Just remove the carpet from the trunk/cargo area and look for cracks. Cost of repair does not have to exceed a certain % of the car's value to be deemed a total loss. If the resale value of the the parted car is deemed greater than the car's whole value it can be totalled. At least that is what I was told.
Also, it is very difficult to demand new replacement parts since most car insurance companies operate on the Like Kind and Quality (LKQ) philosophy. They will source parts from a car equal to or less than the mileage and age on your car.
It is really important that you get a thorough evaluation of your car's wrecked condition. Hope this helps and best of luck to you.
I assume the "adjuster" is the other person's insurance. Be very wary before you agree to anything. I would not settle before getting it on a lift for a full inspection even if you pay for it. Good luck, Sam

Of course they are that dirty. They are only out to save themselves money, that's how they stay in business. That's why I pay a few bucks extra a year to have the clause. "OEM Parts only" in the event of a repair, otherwise the insurance company can use parts from anywhere. For some people and some cars this may not be a big deal, but for my vette I would never allow anything but oem parts for repair work. This is important since not all body panels or electrical parts are as good as original.

Suggest you contact a "public adjustor" like "West Coast Public Adjustors". They fight your insurance company for you.
