Chrome Wheel Touch-Up -- Something Different?
But, I'd like to do a bit better without spending ~$200 for a new wheel mounted and balanced. Anybody over try this stuff? http://compare.ebay.com/like/400435004575. Looks interesting if designed for home faucets which we all know folks like to look really nice. Plus, VERY pricy for a paint pencil, so it must be good, right?

Thanks!
If i were you i would call a wheel refinishing company and get quote for a chrome wheel. Local companies in my area will actually come to you and do it in a trailer they bring with them with astonishing results. I had a friend use them for a seriously curb rashed wheel on a brand new Lexus GS350. I saw before and after and you would almost think he just bought a new rim. I'm not sure if they do chrome (they might). But they could atleast repair the damage and remove all the chrome for cheap, and you then could get it re-plated at another shop
In the end i'm not sure what would be most cost effective, re-plating or new wheel, but it's worth a shot to get real lasting results. I however would highly doubt that this pen would give you the look you're expecting.

Still hoping to find someone who has tried the Moen stuff. Given what they are asking, perhaps it is somewhat better than the rattle-can silver that claimed to be "chrome!" And it is still 1/6 the cost of a new wheel, and available the next time I do something stupid (put 10K miles/year on a car, and stupid happens)

So, I'll not bother with the Moen touch up pen, although I remain curious if anybody ever used it and had OK results. Certainly I agree with years of posted comments that, even doing a very careful job, the rattle-can stuff will not be satisifactory if you want the repair to look like chrome.
