Seats are in the car and look great! Glad to have my Mod red interior complete.
I'm going to take some better pics, some I took were out of focus??? Anyway a few more pics to come in a new thread. Look for lemonade.
I was preparing to install my most recent upgrade, mod red seats, when I pulled off the last of the bubble wrap on the passenger seat and found this
Don't know what I'm going to do now. It's sickening after thinking for a week I had a perfect set of seats. I doubt FEDX will be interested in hearing from me or the shipper. The cuts are on both sides at the same height right on the edge of the metal seat frame below the cover. Any suggestions appreciated along with any success stories in making a repair to damage like this.

That really sucks. I would take pictures of the box, packaging and damaged areas of the seats. I would then contact FedEx and the vendor and report the concealed damage. Its a long shot with FedEx-especially if the shipment wasn't insured. Maybe the vendor will help you out if FedEx won't.
I doubt if Fed-Ex will do anything. On items like that I open them with the guy there. They don't appreciate it a whole lot but if there's damage they see it as well and no one can say I did it after delivery, then it's between the supplier and shipper to figure it out.
20/20 hind sight but something to think about in the future.
Dam dude that sucks , I'm not sure if I can help ... I build interiors of Casinos , cabinets , trim , granite , booth seating ( leather ) and or plastic , anyway last week I got a shipment in from our booth manufacture and upon unwrapping them one had a small rip like what you are showing long story short I drove the cushion to Del Rio Texas to have it repaired I have no idea how the man done it , but I do know that he took a pieces off the bottom to repair the rip , you may look up an upholstery shop in your area , it can be repaired your just going to have to do some leg work

Did you buy them used? Perhaps the seller didn't disclose the defects? That doesn't look like a shipping defect from here...if it is vinyl there is a repair kit that is quite easy to use.
If purchased new, it's a vendor issue. Let them fight the battle with FedEx. Is the merchandise in the condition you expected when you made the purchase? No. So work with the vendor on an exchange and let them deal with FedEx or their insurance company. Do not take a new product to a local vendor to have them repaired.

Don't worry John,
It can be fixed. Take it to a reputable upholstery shop and they will make it good as new.
Fed X dropped the box off when no one was here. Sitting at my basement door when I got home. Bubble wrap looked good certainly not cut. The seat frame under the cuts has a fairly sharp edge and probably contributed to the damage. The box was in pretty good shape and the only cuts to the box I noticed was where the seat mounts worked their way through the cardboard. I hope I can find a good shop to repair these. May take it with me tomorrow and let the only shop locally take a look at them.

Not your problem...
These were used factory seats out of a low mileage Z06. I don't think they were misrepresented. Shipped from New Jersey anything could have happened. My guess is they were handled rough like the gorilla in the old Samsonite luggage commercials ( dating myself there).

I agree - find yourself a good auto upholstery shop and see what they can do to fix the seats. We have a vendor around these parts called Dr. Vinyl that does repairs like that - they are very good and once done with the job, you can't tell it was even damaged. See if you have something like that in your area.
That sucks big time...I know that I'd be P-O'd too! Take a shot at the seller and/or FedEx...won't hurt to try. Get a good upholsterer (or two) to look em over and give you a written quote first; so you know (and can reference) the $$ value of the damage.
You can NOT just wrap them in bubble wrap and toss them in a box.
Fedex requires 2" packing. I just shipped 2 expensive seats west coast to east. They were wrapped with bubble and boxed with 2" of solid styrofoam sheet on all 6 sides. Over $100 per seat to pack.

IMO the shipper/seller needs to make this right.
Not necessarily...if the seller used his own packaging, you can't blame the shipper if the seats weren't packaged correctly. Correct packaging is almost a science of its own these days...most people are not aware of the proper methods, requirements, and materials to do a proper job. Those cuts look like they were made internally by the sharp edges of the seat back...almost knife-like in nature.

I am saying fault of the shipper NOT the shipping company
