I just ordered new wheels and looking for sizes 265/35/19 fronts and 305/30/19 for rears. It has been so difficult to find a matching set at a reasonable price. I am looking at the nitto invo but am afraid in the littlest rain or cold weather I will not get any traction.
Does anyone have any input on this tire or recommend a tireor where to get some??
the michelin pilot super sport is the best of breed in 275 35 18 and 305 30 19. it's a utqg 300 tire that's very close to the extreme performance tires and also very good in rain.
if you have the ability to run those sizes which you apparently do there is no other street tire i would consider unless you need maximum warm weather traction at the expense of treadlife and could justify something like the yoke ad08
Its either run that size in those sizes or run 295/35/19 rears and 275/35/18 in the bfg g force. I am ordering the z07 wheels and the bfg is an option for the package at a decent price. I initially wanted the bigger rear tire but it is becoming a headache finding and affording the tires.
These wheel will be just for show and around town. I will have another set for the drag strip.
^ agree with this statement (racebum) very much...
I had Invo's on this car...(built LS7 552whp)
and this car (twin turbo LS3, 655whp 8psi)
Had them due to a loose sponsorship deal and I was extremely dissatisfied with them. They were unpredictable at the limit, nor did they handle the power levels we were producing, poor in the rain (but that's almost a given at these widths) and frankly I thought they looked a little too "quirky". As racebum stated...they don't do anything well...they are merely affordable.
The michelins are just an outstanding tire. They'll be going on my Z06 after what I have on there is worn out. I've had the Michelins on several cars...some older exotics I brokered...performance cars...and they're a nice tire.
Ended up going on the last GTM before it all went bad....lol.
If youre looking a reasonably priced tire, I recommend Bridgestone Potenza RE Sports. Great in rain/cold/heat. REALLY bites down in hot weather. Great prices, great tread pattern.
Another question on the size. If I go 295/35/19 on a 19x11 rear will the sidewall be stretched and the rim stick out? I don't want the tires to look too small for the rim and look like a Honda ricer.
They don't look "stretched" but they do appear rounded at the edge and the rim could protrude slightly depending on the tire type. If you buy several 295's you'll find they aren't all the same. Also, tires with rim protection will tend to look rounded anyway. I don't know where the "Honda ricers" stuff comes into play because that's just foolishness...
Even a 305 has a rounded edge on a 19x11...295 certainly will.
I've had 2 sets of Goodyear F1 Supercars, 1 set of Michelin Sports, 1 set of Michelin PS2's and now have Nitto Invo's on the car. The engine is a TSP 418, TFS heads, G5X3 114 cam, LG headers/3"catback and a Fast 90mm intake.
The Nitto are the best tires as for traction, noise and no more wheel hop. I have 265/35/18 & 305/30/19 sizes.
I think he was meaning this sort of thing.
Don't blame him though, it is primarily Honda's where this sort of thing takes place, as they are usually the head display of the latest garbage in the whole "JDM" scene.

Your car seems to have a very similar setup to mine. I guess from this thread, Invo's are great for daily use, but not meant for any serious racing. Correct me if I'm wrong, but from what I've heard, these are pretty great tires, despite what some people on this thread say. I'm not using my car for anything extreme, so I would imaging for the price, these tires are really nice. To the OP: What wheels did you end up getting? I'm actually on the same hunt as you for the best tires for the money.

I am going with the z07 wheels from corvettegarage. It is very similar to the c6zo6 rim but sharper and designed with the right offset for the c5.
I have nitto envo tires on my 2000 coupe 295/25/20 in rear and 265/30/19 in front I like the tires in rain they hold the ground don't know about the cold I'm in south fl and as someone said b4 they hook
