WOW, An 1868 Mustang, I didn't know they were around that long.
Lots of people riding mustangs in 1868. Some folks couldn't afford a properly broke quarter horse so they had to catch a 'stang and pray it didn't kill them.

Yikes... who would of known then. Reminds of a good friend of mine at the time (1976) who had a nice 67 chevelle ss and his then girlfriend ,talked him into trading it on a new 1976 chevette for the fuel mileage and practicality. Turned out for him to be a real nightmare...the chevette was the biggest abortion GM ever made.
> The car you used to take your first driving test for your DL?
That was a long time ago but I think it was an 84 Honda Civic Shuttle Wagon... it was a pretty weird looking car.
> The first manual transmission car you ever drove?
Hmmm... let me see. When I was learning, I used a 1987 Toyota Tercel. But once I learned, my dad would let me take out on rare occasions his 1981 BMW 528 (manual car) when I needed to impress the ladies.
> The very first car YOU owned?
Well I was in college back then and money was pretty tight... it was a 1978 Honda Civic with CVCC engine. It burned oil terrible and I am glad those days are over!

I'll always cherish the drive in the Benz. It was 1965, I was 15 years old at the time and my neighbor Otto asked me if I could come into town with him and pick up his other car and bring it home. I thought sure, no problem, I have driven the 65 Laurention around the park I lived in but not out on the road, sure I can drive it home for you but I thought I would be driving his other car, the 4 door Mercedes daily driver. When we got to the garage where he was getting some service work done on the 300SL Gullwing, he took me over to it, raised the door and flipped me the keys and said , do you know how to drive a standard and I perked right up and said of course, doesn't everybody. Up until that point in my short life, I had never ever even sat in a car with a standard transmission. The only standard transmission I ever saw was when Tod Or Buzz were driving that vette on Route 66. Well I thought I had died and gone to car heaven. He followed me home all the way and I never missed a shift. God that was a nice car.

But the funny one was when my son took his driver's test. He took it in my yellow '75 convertible, 4-speed when it was running a B&M blown L82. The examiner walked over to the car and exclaimed "you're either damned good or a damn fool". He Passed!
