Headlight motor repair

I need some help guys. I found this guy on eBay carguy8t8 who rebuilds headlight motors for 75 bucks or 110 with the bronze gears. He has really good feed back. Was wondering if anyone else has used him

Why not just rebuild your own with brass gears for 45 each?

But to answer your question, I've never heard of that gentleman so can't give you any feedback on his work quality.

I've replaced them a few years back and now the left side won't go up or down. I think it's the motor

Stay away from the bfranker gears. These gears are fabricated without the rubber bushings. The slots are embedded directly in the one-piece gear itself. It's a great idea on the surface but the problem is these bushings are there for a reason!! Use these gears and you have nothing but headaches. (Guess how I know all this)

Rodney also sells braces which are great after the headlight motor's top plastic plate is re-glued on.

Do it yourself, it's an easy fix. Since you've done it before, you know that. Now, can you hear the motor running? Since it doesn't go up or down, you may not be getting power. If the motor is running, either the gear is comepletely stripped (rare) or the cover has come off. Have you manually opened it to see what's going on under there? That would be my first move.

Yes the motor runs. I've replaced them with the depot lights. My wife hates them wants the factory ones back no I haven't opened them up yet. Going up in the attic to get them. Thanks everyone
