1998 corvette

I have recently heard some noise that seems to be coming from my steering. Turn steering wheel and it sounds as though it is straining.
I can be parked and turn wheel a bit and it makes same noise. Can I assume it is the power steering fluid?

Most likely. Try replacing the PS fluid.

A low fluid level can cause the PS pump to make strange noises.

Without question check the fluid level, you do not the power steering pump to run low or dry.

It's not a bad idea to check all fluids while you are at it.

1998 Vett steering noise

Thanks for the tips. I did check the fluid level and it seems to be ok.
Any other ideas you may have?
Could it be the power steering unit? or maybe the fluid may need to be replaced?

Just looked again and you are all correct. Needs power steering fluid. Had it in for service last year. Thought all levels were checked. Thanks to all.

I would like to get my wheels chromed. Any ideas. The corvette magazine will ship them and you must return yours. I wasn't comfortable with that. Any suggestions?

Consider buying new chrome wheels and selling yours?

I purchased chrome replica ZR1 wheels and love them.
