I have a 2000 Corvette and am looking for a part
The lid right in front of the trunk for the convertible does not stay up
I am assuming its a shock or something that needs to be replaced
Can anyone point me in the right direction of the following
1) A diagram for the 2000 corvette for that part of the car
or
2) The part number or link I can click for the shocks I need to replace in the convertible compartment lid so it stays up
Thanks all

Many used tonneau struts are available on many websites. I just but a good set off the forum for 25.00. The dealer wanted 85.00 dollars each. Go to the For Sale section on the forum.
The tonneau strut replacement is a pain in the azz because u have to contort your body to get to them. Will simple replacement other than that.
Google brings up multiple threads with how to's and pictures and part numbers. I picked this one at random, look at page one and scroll down for part numbers.
1) Open tonneau cover. I also find it easier to have the top folded up into the center of the car.
2) Follow the hinge of the tonneau cover until you see/feel the strut and use a very small screw driver to pry the clip away from the strut end, which will release the strut from it's mounting ball. Study your new strut to see how the clip works.
3) Close the tonneau and open the trunk, pry the clip away from the other end of the strut. Remove and discard old strut.
4) Install new strut, it simply pops on the mounting ball with a little pressure.
5) Close trunk, open tonneau and press the other end of the strut onto it's mounting ball.
6) Repeat on the other side.
