I have an extra one. It has a black lid, but you could put anyone you wanted over the console. Everything is new in it. Lid, bumpers, switches power outlet and so on. Felt inside. I have a feeling this is not allowed here !
That's friggin' ugly! I see why you removed it! Just sayin.....
Yeah, I didn't think it would work, but ever since I finished it it's been all "Wow's" and high fives ! and I have an extra. And thank you, sometimes things just work right !
Did you do all the work yourself? The upholstery looks great!
Yes I did it all. I started with having RPI make me new leather shift and E-brake boots out of a color that isn't "Shale" I have a 1SC 50th coupe. And that went great and then I redid the arm rests and then I bought the 50TH. logo console cover. Then sice I have been buying spare parts since 2005 I had a set of black ones and I sent them to a little company in Texas. Took a month and I got them back and you can see it is a high quality job. So I decided to go out on a limb and have them do the stripped console and the Magnetic ride control and traction control panel. I really expected to get a call that they couldn't do the switch panel. (It had been stripped and the white letter was still on it) and a month went by and he called (his name is Clay) and said they were done. So he sent them back and I was floored by the work. Everything comes wrapped in green soft cloth. And sure enough the little white lettering was back on and covered in four coats of clear. Hell of a deal.
I put everything back together and all of the switches and lights and lid and bumpers and put in back in. You could say I was very happy. I had never taken on a job like this. The shop in Texas bleaches the parts once they get them, then applies an epoxy primer that seal's the plastic. then the desired finish wood, carbon fiber so on. then once it's dried the buff it till it's got a real high shine to it. Then they apply the 4 coats of clear and the parts get another buffing and if it passes inspection it get the go light and is returned to the customer. It was a lot of work, but to me I thin k it was worth it. If you sit in the car and I have installed a Cyber Dine 50th. Anni. kit to the dash steering wheel graphics & sill graphics and it comes out well balanced. There's only a touch of the wood finish so it breaks up all the gray/shale ongoing drab coloring. All I wanted was a change in the interior. This is no track car, it's a cruiser and trip Corvette. it's only a LS1. I di a Corsa exhaust and the Michelin pilot sports PS/2 ZP tires.
I've had a number of Corvette owners sit in it and ask "Did it come from Bowling Green like this?" And that makes all the work worth it. ! Last year I installed the painted APis splash guards
