I need to find a way to get a wire from inside the back of my car to the outside of my car near the exhaust. I am looking to hook up a mic near my exhaust to my go pro but like I said I need to get the mic wire from inside to outside the car. we are only talking about a wire that would be like a 16gauge wire and I would like to hook it up near where an exhaust plate would go
on the driver side behind the carpet is a flap opening (vent) to the outside of the car but still underneath the body panels. I used that to get from the trunk to the area behind the taillights for my satellite antenna.

I removed my rear license plate back up lights when I added my rear view camera. I drilled a small hole from the inside truck area about center I then ran the wire through the hole and under the hatch carpet.
Yep, drill a 1/16 or 1/8" hole down in the lower middle cowling area. There is a formation in that area which is the top of the exhaust plate. This is exactly what I did to run wire up to my small battery for a LED, works perfect and I doubt any water will get up into it, in the event you should get caught in the rain.

Chris308 THANK YOU!!!!!!!! you are the only one that did not suggest drilling a hole and your solution worked GREAT! I ended up running an audio extension cable through there that way I could plug in the mic when I want to use it and unplug it the rest of the time. the excess of the cable is tucked neatly in the drivers side cubby hole
