My door locks on my 2004 convertible drive me nuts. I just want them to unlock when I press the unlock on the remote. They way the factory has it set up to unlock the passenger door on the second press just doesn't work most of the time. I find myself having to press the button 3 or 4 times just to get the passenger door to unlock.
Is there a way to change the setting (like on many modern cars) to open both doors with a single click? I have NO use for the double unlock feature.
Yes, you have to go through your DIC. Do a search on it; it's simple. What do you consider modern lol? Have you tried cleaning the contacts or replacing the battery on the keyless entry module?

I don't know of a setting where you push the fob 1 time to unlock both doors, It is a safety thing, If you have to push the button a number of times you might check the battery, Clean the contacts and if that don't help you might look for a new fob.

It occurred to me that maybe a simple wire from the right unlock solenoid to the left solenoid would do the trick. It may also be possible to merely run a wire inside the driver's door from the solenoid to the unlock button (but then this might create a condition where the "unlock" will become energized infinitely...)
On further thought, just running a jumper from the driver's "unlock" wire to the passenger "unlock" wire should do it. Is there a wiring diagram posted anywhere that covers 2004?
