staggered 17/19 wheels
Has anyone tried staggered 17/19's or 18/20's on their C5 or C6? (pics)
My 'ol waggon-wheels are needing new tires and thought it might be a good time to upgrade. Just looking for more of a muscle car exotic look

I have 18's and 20's... Love them.
Ignore the tire size on the back wheels.
Those are getting replaced soon.

sweet! Got any more profile pics of the 18/20's? BTW what (if anything) is the downside to the staggered rims?

I can probably take another picture... that is the only one I had sitting around.
Down side is you need different sized tires... but everyone with a vette has larger back tires.
Those little back tires will not be staying... i freaking hate them
There is no reason for them.

Just make sure you "size" your TIRES correctly or you will have active handling and traction control issues.

That is good advice... had not thought of that.

Check out my tutorial on how to properly size your tires to avoid computer issues.
www.toquez06.com --->
How to Determine the correct "Tire Size" for new wheels on a C5 and C5 Z06:
This is the general rule of thumb you want to follow.
Stock C5 rear tire diameter is 1.0" larger than the front tire.
Stock Z06 rear tire diameter is 0.7" larger than the front tire.
Notice that I'm talking about "TIRES" above and not RIMS.
You want to MAKE sure that your REAR tire is AT LEAST 0.5" larger in diameter (compared to front tire) at all times to ensure no computer issues.

Has anyone tried going 1.5" larger in the rear?
I want more rubber back there.

wow thanks, I hadn't though about that.. I was thinking there might be a slight MPG issue or HP loss or something, but not traction control

I hope it helps you to NOT make a mistake on your tire sizing. I have seen plenty of folks on here make an expensive mistake on tires because they don't understand how it needs to work on our car's.
Good luck !

I checked out your cars website (cool stuff) what size rims / tires are you running? And what are the rims.. they are awesome!
Would the same rear wheel fit on a non Z06 car?

Mike:
Thanks !
Yes my setup will fit a Coupe/Vert or Z06 with no issues.
Many people run the exact sizes I am.
