I have no front plates on any of my cars here in Ca. I haven't had a ticket in 35 years either and I play a little. I think once you spend little time here you will learn the truth about many myths. The most amusing to me is the one about the SMOG POLICE. Yes you do have to register and your car every year and if it is older than five years you need to have it emissions tested before you can sell it or renew the tags. But there are several counties where you don't have emissions testing at all. There are no police driving around pulling suspected emissions violators over and inspecting their cars.
One thing is true though, there are more beautiful women per square mile than anywhere on the planet. They are every where. It's like they are falling out of the sky.
Quiet, you are giving away all our secrets,as far as the smog laws go if anybody was around here before the smog laws and leaded gas was the only thing available they would welcome these laws as i do, and we would not have cars that run clean and get 25 plus mpg(I don't think the big 3 would have done it on their own). As for a front plate, I have never had one on my vette or my truck.
Sounds like the OP is Air Force oriented. Both TX and Mississippi are big Air Force Base states. Summer months are unbearably hot and humid. I lived and worked at Keesler AFB for 6 years of my life and loved it despite the bugs, alligators and heat. If they tell you a hurricane is coming, don't hesitate, evacuate!
No front plates in Tennessee.
So you did some time on the coast, the thing I like is the lack of Houston traffic.
But there are too many Leos, I see them everywhere.

I couldn't imagine a daily commute into town in Houston. I've been through that town at 5 or 6 different hours of the day and it's always stop and go traffic.
Hmmmmm...Leos is not a term I'm familiar with, but something else to like about Biloxi is the casino restaurants...excellent dining.

Definitly some great places to eat and hang out, The term Leo was refering to State troopers,Local police ect, seems like they are on every corner and keeping a close eye on everyone, Since having all the engine work done on my car, I will miss the wide open highways in Texas where I was able to open her up every now and then.
I would be interested to hear more about this new development. My home is Nebraska, though I am just finishing a project in MO then off to KS. I usually only expose the front plate the times I drive my car home.
Not exactly sure how they will "police" this (i.e. will they monitor cars to see if they are daily drivers) and/or if they want to expend resources to even do that. But it's a step in the right direction IMHO.
In 40 years I have never run a front plate in California. I have had two moving violations and last month I was stopped by Highway Patrol officer but just wanted to know where I had gotten my tail lights and which exhaust I was running. Fellow Corvette owner.
