Default got in a accident.

Only had 2 months with the car and got in a small accident. Car hit the brakes in front of me and i went underneath the car.

Isnt that bad but i need a new bumper and hood.

The bumper cracked by the lights. THe hood has some slightly deep gouges. Anyone have any tips or a place i can buy a hood and bumper. Or anyone selling their stock bumper?

depends on where you're located. on the west coast auto adventure and airport auto wrecking typically have those parts

airport auto in salem oregon typically has a few c5's being parted. body wise, on the front end, you can use 97-04. the z06 front bumper had the screens but that was about it

i would look local first, if not salem will be cheap truck freight versus buying anywhere else since you're in nor-cal

I don't think the bumpers/hood changed at all for the c5 generation. 04 z06's got carbon fiber hoods I believe.

I believe that was only with the Z16 option. Most 2004s had regular hoods.

Sorry to hear about this misfortune

But, this would be a good time to consider a mod'ed front. For some ideas, see avatar

Check out forum vendoe Corvette Recycling ---- http://www.corvetterecycling.com/
I know of several folks that have purchased parts from them, good prices and service. Many times they have the body parts in your car color so no repaint required.

there's a yellow hood in good shape on portland craigslist for 200

you should be able to buy aftermarket carbon hoods under 900

some salvage yards are nuts with prices

I just took the car to the shop yesterday.... I mean the damage isnt really that bad. 2 small chips that are the size of a dime maybe even smaller. 1 deep scratch. The bumper cracked where the bottom lights are at. Some people say it can be fixed. The insurance said they found some parts but could be aftermarket.

I actually found a hood locally for 200 and its red. big plus. guy doesnt know if its oem or aftermarket.

Dont know if i should just have them repair the hood or get the used one locally.
I looked online and found a oem bumper for about 400+. Believe its one of the vendors.

I just want everything to be done right with quality parts.

I did look into aftermarket bumpers.... Time and money to have a good finish is what im worried about. Most bumpers say they need to be worked.

as far as insurance is concerned get them to quote you for OEM parts. Then when the check arrives, pick and choose the route you want to go. Odds are you'll have money left over for other things if you want.
