I have no idea. I went for my inspection and the guy said my sway bar end links were bad. I watched him push the rear one and it moved like 3 inches and i kept my mouth shut. Got home, ordered end links, went to change them the next day, gave it a thug and it came out of the bushing.
So I ordered a new sway bar.
I have no idea how it broke or how long it's been broken.
I do know you can not even bend one over your knee.
I've seen this on probably 40 or 50 GMs over the past 4-5 years, all due to rust. It seems more prevalent on the Grand Prix platform (Monte Carlo, Impala, Silhouette, etc.). I've never seen it on a Corvette, but then again we don't see too many Corvettes through my shop.
I snapped one on a Pontiac Bonneville due to rust. It doesn't suprise me that it is systemic with GM models, when they buy from the lowest bidding supplier. Good excuse to get C6Z bars!
Have any of you seen a alternator pour smoke after your power wash the engine bay then spring back to life on the way to advanced auto to buy a new one? Then continue to work for over 50k miles.
How about Hydro locking the engine and driving it 20 miles home then changing the oil twice and it run better then before?
