I currently have these front corners with LED switchbacks.
I love the switchbacks, however I really like the look of clear corners/reflectors, especially on black, blue, silver, and gray C5s.
Mr. Bill's Pewter car above is pretty much the look I'm going for as I have a similar set up with my ACAs and HID fogs. With that said, I know they are illegal in the state of Florida as the statute requires amber front reflectors, however since I have amber/white LED switchbacks and amber bulbs behind my current amber side reflectors, I wonder if this mod will draw unnecessary attention.
Thus far, I have made sure all of my lighting mods have stayed within the satutes, however I really like the look of the clear corners and think they would look great matched up to my MSG paint.
So, for those running these types of corners, have you ever had any issues with LEOs? I know some states allow clear reflectors, however Fl does not.
as bright as the switch backs are...most people who have seen mine(clear housing with black) think I am running a fog light...as the corner lights have two bulbs inside orange on the outside as well as the switch back bulb. so I think you would be fine to be honest
DOT federal regulations require amber reflex reflectors "On each side as far to the front as practicable" Which is why none of the side markers with the clear reflectors have a DOT certification number stamped on them.
That being said, I don't see any LEO giving you a problem with them. They're still highly visible and highly reflective.

That's what I'm thinking as well. Since I'm running switchbacks, the DRLs are amber so if I pass a LEO I doubt they would even notice/care that the reflector is clear.
When the driving lights are on, the DRLs switch to white light, and then switch to amber when the turn signal is engaged. The side reflector light is also on and if I have an amber bulb behind the clear reflector, it will shine through as amber.
The only risky time would then be during the day when the clear reflector is visible behind the amber DRL. If i got pulled over for speeding, the LEO could then point out the clear reflector as a "bonus" infraction.
