Make him provide a dyno sheet. That seems high to me (the dyno numbers). I also think 18.4K for a 98 base (even with only 25K miles), is on the high side as well.
this. engine would have to have a large cam and killer set of heads
remember, age wears cars out just as fast as mileage. you're looking at a 98
Age wears cars even if they aren't driven but 4,000 miles a year? Lol please explain not sure I understand the science there. Even if the car doesn't lay down 440 at the wheels I'm sure its much faster than my Cobra and def grabs more attention.

absolutely
rubber rots, bushings crack. plastic gets brittle, seals leak, radiators scale. parts get harder and harder to come by. it's an accepted depreciation factor on any value table. all you have to do is enter identical specs on a 2001, 2002, 2003, 2004 z06 and you'll find the 2004 is worth the most.
it's also why a 2010 car even with 150k miles still has a high resale.
condition usually suffers when cars age. most people do not do preventative maintenance and that factors in as well
low mileage cars typically have better paint and better interiors, they are also easier to find in good condition. it's fairly rare to find 100k+ mile c5's in good condition but they do exist
many i have inspected were beat on and parts never replaced. people spend as little as possible to keep it running
Oh hmmm didn't think of it like that. Well the sale fell through he sold it anyways so back to searching can't seem to find any within 100 miles in good condition that are reasonable prices.
