Not to hijack your thread, but would you say the GoPro is the best "action camera" out there? I know the Contour is the main competitor. I'm getting ready to purchase one of these types of cameras for a trip up to western NC and TN since I'll be going around to a number of the scenic driving roads. Thanks man.

I like what you've done with your interior. Especially the touch screen stereo.
This could be an interesting thread.
Thanks!

This is a good question. Maybe someone has done some research in this area. The GoPro HD Hero is my first "action camera".
Where did you get your go pro? How does it mount for say a driving video from outside your car
I bought mine from a forum member. There are a number of mounting accessories ( http://gopro.com/camera-mounts ). You use a suction cup mount to record outside your car.
Nice pics however I noticed a lot of barrelling (I think it's called something like that) where the straight lines are curved. In the last photo for example, the left edge of the engine bay, bottom of picture, is not a straight line.
Is that the look you're going for??
Well, GoPro makes tethers for the camera so I don't think you can completely trust the suction cup.
BTW, I haven't tried using my GoPro outside the car.
You can just take some 550 cord and pull out the strands that run through the center, then tie it off to both the camera and somewhere on the car. Just dummy cord it and it should hang by the dummy cord should the suction cup fail. Might scratch the paint but at least you won't lose the camera.
