Default Great day

Finally had some decent weather on Tuesday. I was off work so took the vette out for a drive to a few body shops for estimates on some paint work and a tire place to get a price. First body shop asked me to lower the top so they could check closeness of panel fit for paint matching. Never put it back down. Drove around some extra. Got my first two waves, one from another C5 and one from a C6. Cool. I can't wait for more wheel time. The Northeast TN back roads are calling me..........

$2,400 and $1,700. Refinish front bumper from PO bumping into stuff, major paint chip in trunk lid (there when I got the car and have no idea how it happened), and a small scratch on the rear bumper. I'm going to check into some other places.

Got to be a nice day when you can get behind the wheel and go for a cruise.

That's quite an estimate I was curious because I need to paint my front bumper. Actually the whole car needs it but I could live for now with the front bumper being painted.

I got mine out today as well and drove it to work. first time in at least two weeks as it's been raining a lot here.

My suggestion for you is to find someone you trust to paint the bumper for you and get a quote if you take the cover off and bring it to them for paint. I had mine repainted last year for $275.00 and very happy with the respray. I'm not a bodyman but removal and re-installation of the front bumper cover was relatively easy and I was able to snag my build sheet out of the frame too. My body guy was happy to not have to deal with the mechanical end of things and my turn around with him was quicker.

I may give that a try. Trying to keep the cost down but still have the car look good.

That's what I'll probably do unless I decide to wait until I can repaint the whole car.
