For those interested in putting the LS3 480HP crate engine in a C5Z here is the link for my install. Have not gone full throttle yet but after 50mi so far it is a different car from before. Lots of interesting little tidbits we learned during the course of this. Here is the link with more info with lots of pics. Before everyone jumps in and starts saying how they would have done this or done that I considered all options and went this route because it suits me and the way I use it BEST. Everything changes when you start with a new block. Enjoy! http://forums.corvetteforum.com/paci...in-my-c5z.html
I have not had one single issue with it to date and have about 6k miles on it. The biggest thing to get right is the tune because of this cam. While not a big cam considering what is out there it is a challenge to tune to where you can idle in traffic, come to a stop or cruise at 20-30mph. The first two it will stall on you and the last it will buck.
No issues with the LPE module or harness. Very straight forward on the install. Can't say how long it would take because I was start/stop on the thing constantly plus I did other things while she was apart.
The CAI is stock C5Z and the intake manifold is stock LS3. Headers are XPS which I already had. My goal was to make it look as stock as possible. We even modified my FRC to fit the LS3 fuel rails. It is amazing how many C5 vette guys look at it and cannot find anything other than the headers when I ask. The intake manifold and TB should be a dead give away. The FRC and stock CAI I guess throw them off. Then I fire it up and let it idle and they really get puzzled.
I am happy with what I have and she sure has some *****.
The best thing to do is log onto Facebook and type in Speed Secrets. Its a performance shop in Monroe, WA that has all the pics of the destruction and rebuild there.
Eric, you should save a copy of the pics yourself and host them on Photobucket or Picasa or something. It takes forever to go back several months on a pic heavy page like Speed Secrets....
I've seen the car and its quite a sleeper!
