Well, I got all my materials ready and started to degrease the hoodliner so it could be painted. The thing complletely fell apart like it was rotten. Every place I touched just disintegrated. Oh well, it has worked for some but I guess my 12 year old hoodliner was just ready to be replaced.
Local Chevy dealer wanted $153 plus tax. Joke. I'm calling Car Motorsports today
Didn't that young guy around my age from the NCCO say he could do some air brushing on the hoodliners? I'd be interested also. What will you be getting on your yours?
I personally like the liner route, but a non liner hood does look very nice also
It gives it more of a clean look.
It is clean in a sense but underneath the liner the hood is rather ugly even if you do finish it nicely with paint. To me the underside of the hood is constructed in such a way that it wasn't meant to be seen. Still though, i like the clean look.

I love my Car Motorsports hood liner, trunk lid liner and custom ID plate. I have received a lot of compliments since I installed them last year.
I think I am going with the identical hoodliner MSG - thanks!
They were great to deal with. They took the time to make sure all the components matched with the same stitching, colors, etc.
They are not cheap, however they are reversable and removeable. If if ever sell/trade my C5 (which I don't plan to do), I can remove and sell the hood liner/trunk lid cover and keep my club ID patch as a momento.
One thing I recommend is to pop the hood when the car is parked for an extended period. It prevents any aftermarket engine components, like my Honker CAI, from permanently indenting the hood liner.
How about this? Hoodliners.com. I paid $100 shipped. You have to install it with GM Hoodliner adhesive one side at a time but it wasnt bad. The seller suggests taking the hood off, but its not necessary. Cant beat the price, materials are better than OEM. You can go to Ebay and punch in "corvette hoodliner" and it should take you right there. Just another option.

Great looking option and I like how it cover the hole in the upper right of the hood. Thanks Daryl!
The navy blue may be a tough match up against the black, however they have a more cobalt blue on their website that looks pretty good!
Yes, I saw the cobalt blue but I wonder if it wouldn't look out of place with Navy Blue.
I actually think I am going to ask them to take the C25- CORVETTE word logo and place an enlarged version of it at the top where the C5 flags typically sit. I will let you know if they do it.

The material is a lot more workable than the OEM hoodliner. There is some minor trimming involved but its no biggie. As far as the liner decals, there are many Corvette decals he has to choose from. It's a great buy for the price and very durable.

That's a pretty cool idea. Do you have any other aftermarket logos in your car that you can match up?
When I upgraded my interior, my OCD kicked in and I made sure that Vette Essentials matched the same color stitching (silver) that I had in my Lloyds floor mats, trunk mats and the Car Motorsports logos to match up the headrest logos. It was pretty easy considering it was a common color I guess.
I'm sure they could provide a mock up of the navy blue to give you an idea.
