Default LS7 Failure

Another sad story, this one had a short life span (with me). I just purchased a Z06 from another forum member as advertised here http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c6-c...o6-1lz-tx.html

I owned the car for about two weeks but I have to admit I rode it hard and put it away wet! Long story short I broke a lifter roller which in turn pitted the bore and cam.

With all adversity comes redemption...a new build! I'll follow up with more information as the build moves forward but meanwhile here are some tasty details.

We started with interior;
  • 6 point Roll Cage with removable side bars
  • Corbeau A4 racing seats
  • 6 Point Harnesses

Then on to the engine;
  • Stock block was repairable so there is our starting point.
  • We'll reuse the stock crank and rods, can't do much better than the stock parts IMHO.
  • After market bearings and polished journals should keep things smooth.
  • Wiseco pistons 13.5 compression (jury is still out on brand, depends on availability)
  • Heads have already but worked through so we'll just clean those up a bit and add new hardware.
  • More aggressive cam (started with QM550) TBD as the build progresses
  • Larger injectors, fuel pump and lines to accommodate the E85 based tune
  • Stock intake (already ported and polished)
  • 102mm throttle bottle (maybe)
  • Underdrive pulley
  • Larger radiator

This is our short list of ideas, more will develop as the build progresses. All suggestions welcome keeping in mind this car is being built for HPDE track days, autocross and open road racing along with a few weekend excursions just to show off. We want to stay naturally aspirated to maintain longevity. Track use generates a lot of heat and power delivery should be smooth, so the use of power adders is not in the cards. Maybe on the next one

Um I have no idea; maybe the mods?
