I am looking at working on 2 things here both requiring simple answers (I think) so I figured I would just create 1 post

First off removing the hood liner looks pretty simple and straight forward. I am going to drop it off with my daughter-in-law to have painted. my question on this is will it cause any problems with driving the car with it off for a week or 2 (my vette is my daily driver)

second painting the fuel rail covers what is the best paint to use? I would prefer to use high temp paint however with that you are limited in colors. is there a better paint to use than high temp that will still allow it to last in the engine bay?

You can drive you car for as long as you want with no hood liner.

You really don't need anything more than dupicolor primer, paint and clear, The key to it holding up is prep, Make sure they are clean and wax free, Sand them lightly and clean them again, Primer them and sand them lightly again and clean them again with a good tack rag, Put your paint on slow and even coats and when happy clear them and let them sit for 24 hours before fooling with them.

with both answers above. However, I went with regular auto paint in my car's exterior color for painting my fuel rail covers. Had my nephew shoot the paint since he works in a body shop. Been on there for nearly four years not one issue. Again, ensuring the covers are prepped correctly is the key. If you would like some files that I have on painting the underhood covers, just PM me your e-mail address.

No problem removing the hood insulator. I haven't used one in 10 years

Use a plastic designed paint, Fusion paint works well
