Des anyone now exactly where how to wire in the resister to allow the buckets to work when the HIDs are installed? I did a quick search and found nothing.
Did you install a battery based relay wiring harness to supply full voltage to your new HIDs?
Using resistors is a bandaid approach, usually all you need is a good wiring harness.

The harness IMO is key to these upgrades working correctly. That and good ballasts. The OEM electronics were not designed for the HID energy demands so you need the harness to act as steroids to help the pop-up lid functionality. That's why HID fogs don't require separate harnesses and usually fire up faster.

Yep I have been pointing this out for years but many just ignore the wiring.
To answer the OP: wire the resistor inline on either one of the headlamps (doesn't matter which). Wire it in front of the ballast, not between the ballast and bulb, electrically speaking.
Def agree w those guys. Always had probs with one light not getting power .. Finally did a relay harness to run off my battery & runs great. You don't have to use the resistor (which I had )
I agree and have said so for years.
I don't understand the reluctance to use a relay harness. They can be had for under $15 on eBay and are very easy to install. Plus they save your expensive OEM wiring and multi function switches. I have one set for my ACA HID headlights (came with the ACA kit) and another for my HID fogs. Been over 5 years and many thousands of miles and never a single issue with the wiring, never a failure to rise or lower my C5 headlights.
