Default 2003 value

Can I get your opinion on the value of a 2003 anniversary vert, blue, tan and tan, HUD clean with 40k miles and new michelin run flats. Any typical watchouts for this year model? I appreciate your help. I have owned C2 & C6's so this one is new to me. Possibly buying for my wife. Car is at a dealer in FL for $24,900.

Thanks

Seems a bit high for the way the dollar is right now, Keep in mine it isn't a really special car, Now if it was the AE vert that would be worth a bit more.

Check out the info contained in this thread for some C5 buying tips:

http://forums.corvetteforum.com/c5-g...ion-files.html

There is a list of common issues with the C5 in the files as well as a checklist for buying a Corvette.

I have a friend that just bought an '03 AE coupe in very good shape and he paid around $22.5K for it with about 27K miles on it. For a vert, it would be a bit higher in value but the car you are looking at has more miles on it. Maybe $23-23.5K would be a good price, depending on the condition.

This is what the AE vert looks like. They are all AE red.

In fairness, he didn't say it was an anniversary edition, only that it was an anniversary - which it is. And honestly I can't figure out why the AE's are worth more - that's the bulk of what was made in 03 - <shrugging shoulders>

The AE option was $5,000 and the color is my all time favorite

I paid about that almost 2 years ago for my AE with 26,000 miles, offer 21 and see his reaction. You should be able to get it done for 22.5 IMO

Combine the Anniversary Red exterior color with the accompanying shale interior color and you got one real winning combination.

It all depends on how much you want the car. The price is a little high, but if you or your wife REALLY wants that car, then you can spend a bunch trying to find the same thing for a lower price and never find it (been there done that, not fun). But since you asked, yes I think that price is just a little high.
