I had a set of them on my '00 6-speed. Great looking system and they sound a little better than stock, but yes, there was a lot of drone, especially in 5th or 6th gear on the highway (around 1600-1900 rpms). I ended up installing a Bassani X-pipe on the car and I would say 95% or more of the drone went away. I was very happy with them after that.
If you want a system without any drone (and not have to install an X-pipe), look into the Corsas. I have the Pace Cars on mine now and they sound great with absolutely no drone and mine is an A4.
