Hi my. 00 c5 6 speed stock wit no cats or exhaust straight pipeing and sum 18". Drag slicks motor has only 93k miles on it check engine light on due to no cats. Took it to track and my best time was 13.266 @ 104mph. I'm new yo vettes so idk if that's fast or slow for. My vette and also do I loss power running wit no cats?? And no exhaust ?? And check engine light on?? Can sum one please tell me how to at least hit low 12s wit out nitrous or turbo set up.,

A good start would be to read the codes, and find out whats going on with the engine. For exhaust, do you have headers or just the stock manifolds? Most of the low cost mods would be CAI, Headers, Intake, then a Cam and tune. Not that all of these are cheap, but it seems to be a common progression. You also want to make sure the brakes and suspension are working well before adding power. Nitrous would probably give the most band for the buck.

Yeah the codes is the o2 sensors due to no cats they get dirty I guess ... I have stock manifolds so do I loose hp running straight pipes all the way to the tips?? No muffler ?? I have erased the check engine light and it seems to run way smoother and stronger wen check engine light off

Low 12's is attainable without juice or FI in a C5. A good CAI,decent heads,cam swap,throttle body and intake,good headers for starters. Low budget? Well...my advice? Shop around here for awhile and you'll be amazed how much you can save buying parts from other members. Some items will be hard to come by cheap or at deep discount for various reasons. At that juncture,sometimes you just have to step-up and pay for it when you need it. A good tune and dyno will give you a basement figure what kind of RWHP your putting down with your car now,so it gives you an idea what you'll need to achieve your performance goals. Good luck

Cold air, long tubes, gears, tune and slicks will get you mid 12's if you can drive. If you can drive means that with a 6 speed it's a little harder to be consistant and get a good launch! no offence to stick drivers, sticks are great but less forgiving than an "auto".

No budget, Nitrous is your only answer. You can add 100hp VERY SAFELY.

I know you said "low budget," but what's a low budget with these cars especially if you're looking for horsepower (Nitrous (wet), yea, but?), can you give a $ amount of low budget?
