Well, I finally got off my *** and installed my new projector lights. I know that fixed lights on the C5 is a hot topic but personally I prefer how they look. When I ordered them, the company neglected to send me my bulbs for the (H7's) so I had to wait for those to come in. In the midst of the current tropical storm "sweeping" the East Coast, I figured what better time than to do this. I went over to my friend's house (I don't have a driveway yet...) to get his help. Overall, the install was fairly straightforward but EXTREMELY tedious. You have to take the lights out a few times to check the reveal and mount everything in place. It would also help to have had a lift, not a little bottle jack and jack stands like what we had. At any rate, I think it turned out fairly well, all things considered. Even with regular halogen H7's, the beam is pretty damn strong and focused. I can't imagine how bright these would be with HID's in them.
Here's the car with the headlights removed (obviously...)
We FINALLY got the first one installed. That was a painful learning curve.
For those that are thinking about doing this, in my opinion, you NEED to have another person involved with this. Getting the reveal lined up correctly would be too difficult for one person to do working from under the car. I didn't remove the bumper like the "instructions" said to, that just seemed a bit much. In retrospect, the bumper being removed would have made this install go a MILLION times faster. Between my friend and I doing this, it took about four and half hours to do this.
Yeah, I know that you either love them or hate them, it's hard to be indifferent to them. Like I said, I think they're pretty slick looking. They were a PITA to install, though. It's really making me reconsider installing headers myself.
