Next month will be my first year as a corvette owner. I can easily say my life has been completely different since owning one. Everyone waves at you from other corvettes, people stare at your car everywhere go. Most important you meet people who share the same passion as you and they change your life forever. If it wasn't for this forum or owning a corvette i would've never met some of my closest friends to this day.
I really see the corvette ownership as a brotherhood or "family". Most of us would help out another fellow corvette owner regardless of race, gender,or age. I'm extremely grateful to everyone who has helped me learn all i can about these car (on and off the forum) and anybody how has lend a hand in any way.
This thought came to me over a cold ones i had with a couple of other fellow corvette owners. It's seriously kinda strange how time flies by when talking about these great machines. I'm glad to be part of this family and hope to continue to learn more.

As a new Vette owner myself, I couldn't agree more. I'm still in awe the attention my C6 recieves. The last 5 times at gas stations I've had people come up and strike a conversation. I'm a pretty low key guy so I'm not used to this kind of attention....it's almost over the top, but since its directed toward the car and not me I'm cool with it. I further agree about the brotherhood notion as it's completely true. If I ever see a vette of any generation stranded on the road I will stop and that will never happen with a ricer...lol
I can meet a complete stranger and not know what to talk about. I can meet a complete stranger who owns a Vette and talk for hours. This is a fraternity we are in.

Yep, as a Corvette owner for 41 years, I agree 100%. Over the years I've had hundreds come up to me and just start talking Corvettes at the gas station. Car shows and cruise nights are fun too, but when you go to the Corvette Museum, Bloomington Gold, or Carlisle, you're awe struck! A Corvette is just not a car, it's a hobby and lifestyle for many of us.
You got that right Maxx! Well said. As a new owner myself with 15 months of ownership I could not be happier. The brother/sisterhood that these care create is truly a great one!!
It used to be a dream, that has now come reality... and a great one at that. The attention these cars still receive is remarkable.

It is amazing how these cars can bring people together. Sounds like you are having a blast with your C5 and great that you have met so many friends that share a passion for the Corvette.
Great post and totally agree! Bought my first Vette (C4) a little over a year ago, get the same reactions where ever I go. Put over 5,000 miles on her last summer, learned very quickly about "the wave!" I am already thinking about adding a second Vette (C5) to the garage soon!
