Will a top from a 98 fit on a 2000? What about other years for c5s?

Yes they are all interchangeable. There may be some adjustments needed but the 97-04 Targa Tops are interchangeable.

 

That is one nice thing about the C5 - many of the parts are the same over the entire production run.

As an example, I purchased a colored targa top from a 2001 for my 1997 and if fit with minimal adjustment. Very tight fit with no squeaks or rattles.

 

Unlike the C6's targa tops that don't fit or interchange all years the C5's do - from 1997-2004!

as a matter of fact I have a 2004 top on my 1998 right now!

I was going to do the search for adjusting targa tops also.
My other search will be anyone ever painted a glass top.

 

I actually painted mine. LOTS of sanding and prep! Got all the old spider web cracking off then paint. Turned out great. The main thing to do before sanding and painting is remove all the wax! I used an 800 grit then 1000. Read here that you could go 600 and paint but just seemed too rough for me...
